Casework encompasses a range of support services, such as counselling, community resource referrals, and service integration.

Caseworkers initially focus on comprehensively understanding the homeless individuals’ current challenges, spanning interpersonal relationships, medical issues, emotional and psychological well-being, and social engagement (e.g. employment or further education).

This assessment also empowers caseworkers to appreciate their situation, values, thoughts, beliefs, and personal strengths. Through collaborative efforts, a plan is developed to reestablish the subjectivity of the caseworkers and enhance their ability to initiate personal transformations and confront future hurdles.
