We, ImpactHK Limited (“ImpactHK”, “we”, “us”, “our”), are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise process your Personal Data that you share with us, that we collect via our website https://impacthk.org/ (“Site”) and other means (e.g. cookies or social media).  “Personal Data” refers to any data from which it is practicable for the identity of the individual to be directly or indirectly ascertained and in a form in which access to or processing of the data is practicable. 

Types of Personal Data Collected

We collect Personal Data about you directly from you and automatically through your use of our Site.

Personal Data We Collect Directly From You via the Site. We may collect the following Personal Data: 

  • your name, email address, telephone number, and information about the volunteer opportunities you are interested in when you sign up as a volunteer; 
  • your photograph and frequency of volunteering when you participate in any of our volunteer activities; and
  • your name, email address, credit card and payment information, your donation amount, and donation frequency when you make a donation. 

Personal Data We Collect Directly From You via other means. We may collect the following Personal Data when you contact or correspond with us as well as via social media: 

  • your name, contact information, such as your email address and phone number when you fill in our enquiry form; and
  • the content of your enquiry and/ or correspondence. 

Failure to supply Personal Data marked as mandatory may result in ImpactHK being unable to provide our services to you or communicate with you. 

Personal Data We Collect Automatically. We automatically collect information about your use of our Site through cookies, web beacons, and other technologies. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we combine this information with other information we collect about you, including your Personal Data. 

The types of data we collect include:

  • your browser type and operating system;
  • web pages you view on the Site; 
  • links you click on the Site; 
  • your device’s IP address;
  • the length of time you visit our Site; and
  • the referring URL, or the webpage that led you to our Site.

  3. Provide social work and counselling services; 
  4. Assist with healthcare, social services and legal advice; 
  5. Provide shelter food and supplies; 
  6. Verify your identity in connection with any activities and transactions; 
  7. Promote our organisation and related volunteer activities; 
  8. Provide newsletter and marketing information to you (with your consent where required by applicable law); and 
  9. Comply with applicable laws or guidelines issued by governmental or other authorities. 

We will obtain your consent if we wish to use your Personal Data for purposes other than those (or those directly related to those) stated in this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure of Personal Data

In order to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to run our business operations, we may provide your Personal Data to our suppliers, agents, contractors and third party service providers, as well as our professional advisors who provide administrative, technology, payments, analytics, professional, advisory services to ImpactHK in connection with our operations. We may also disclose your Personal Data to any court, governmental and regulatory bodies when required to do so. 

We may also share your Personal Data with potential acquirers and their professional advisors in connection with potential or actual corporate restructuring or activity in connection with our  organisation. 

In certain cases, your Personal Data may be shared, transferred or stored in jurisdictions outside of the jurisdiction in which you reside or are located. We may do this where we are satisfied that adequate levels of protection are in place to protect the integrity and security of your Personal Data, and/or adequate security measures are adopted, in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

We will adopt reasonable technical, organizational and administrative measures to protect your Personal Data from accidental or unauthorized access, use, disclosure, erasure, transfer and processing. While we take all reasonable steps to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee that it will be 100% secure, nor that any data breach will not occur.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. Any access to and use of such linked websites is not governed by this Privacy Policy, but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third party websites. We are not responsible for the data handling practices of such third-party websites. We strongly recommend you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites before you provide any Personal Data to them.

Minors 

Our volunteer activities are open to individuals aged from sixteen (16) or above. Therefore, we may collect or use Personal Data from persons under the age of eighteen (18) years. In such case, we will ensure verifiable parental or guardian consent is obtained prior to our collection and use of minors’ Personal Data. 

Access and Correction of Personal Data

You have the right to: 

  1. request access to and correction of your Personal Data; and
  2. withdraw your consent for ImpactHK to use your Personal Data for direct marketing purposes.

ImpactHK may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or permitting corrections to your Personal Data. Where permitted under applicable law, ImpactHK may charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request.

ImpactHK may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time at its discretion. We recommend that you check our Privacy Policy regularly. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent to any material changes to this Privacy Policy.
